Chapter 3 - Jihae’s pov
“HYERIN!” I yelped as I ran into the café five minutes before 9am. I was getting better at this.
“Ah, Jihae annyong~” Hyerin waved form the counter. She smiled brightly.
“I got his name! I got it!” I nearly screeched. It was a good thing that there were no customers just yet, or I’d be bombarded with the weirdest looks ever.
“You did?” Hyerin dropped the rags she was folding and hurried around the counter. “When, where, how, WHY?!”
I held up a finger as I caught my breath. After recovering, I looked up at Hyerin with a wide grin on my face.
“After work yesterday, my friend couldn’t pick me up. And you know how I don’t drive? Yeah so I had to walk home and then the next thing you know he’s RIGHT THERE in front of me! And he KNOWS WHO I AM, HYERIN! HE KNOWS ME! Then I found out that he’s actually my sunbae back in high school but I didn’t know because he didn’t dye his hair blonde until a couple of days ago and-“
“Okay wait, Jihae I can barely understand you. You’re talking incredibly fast.” Hyerin covered my mouth with her palm. I stared up at her with big eyes, I had just said all of that in one breath.
“Slowly now, arraseo?” Hyerin uncovered my mouth and brought me back behind the counter. I nodded and turned on the register. “Now what happened?”
“Okay, so I don’t drive because I don’t have a car. And my friend is usually my ride back home, but she couldn’t pick me up last night. I was just about to walk home when I bumped right into him! We talked a bit and then we found out that we both live in the same neighborhood, went to the same high school and everything. He knows me, well not completely but he says he likes my lattes. He took me home and he told me his name. He already knows mine, crazy right? But his name is Yoseob.” I finished and smiled to myself.
“Ahh, Yoseob eh?” Hyerin scoffed. “Yoseob and Jihae don’t sound good together.”
“Yah!” I whacked her with one of the rags but laughed.
“Come on, morning rush is just about to start.” Hyerin chuckled.
“Blondie at 12 o’clock.” Hyerin muttered sharply just as the door opened. I jerked my head up from the register and caught a glance of Yoseob. I quickly looked down again before he caught me looking. He walked up to the counter, I could see the hem of his shirt and part of his jeans. I didn’t look up since I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks which caused Hyerin to kick me secretively behind the counter. I lifted my head and smiled.
“Hi, how may I help you today?” I asked, putting on a smile. Yoseob laughed at me.
“Annyong Jihae~” He said putting his hands on the counter and leaning forward slightly. My breath caught and he smiled at me, his eyes twinkling.
“What would you-“
“Can I have on of your caramel latte? Whip cream on top, juseyo?” He smirked, the twinkle never leaving his eyes.
“N-neh! Coming right up.” I quickly punched in his order and took his 5 dollar bill, gave him his change and turned around to face the machines. I breathed a sigh of relief. I had not taken a breath since he leaned forward. It was even more stunning up close.
I made his latte, swirling the whip cream and put it up on the counter.
“Cara-“ I stopped, realizing I knew his name now. “Yoseob?” I called.
He was there in a flash. He took the cup from me and winked. I melted of course, so all I could so was nod and smile a little. I turned around and bumped into Hyerin.
“Guuuuurl, you got it bad.” She shook her head. “You’re all trippy and stuttering in front of him! Come on, Jihae. I know you. You’re full of confidence and you’re always straightforward with our customers. What’s all the ‘n-neh’ and the weird nervous shuffling?”
“I shuffle nervously?!” I squeaked. But I knew she was right. Everything she said was true.
“Yes. A nervous shuffle. Cut it out, will you? It sickens me.” Hyerin rubbed the top of my head, messing up my hair. As she turned back to the register, she squeezed my arm. It was a sign of encouragement.
I continued to take orders, make drinks and smile at our customers until my cheeks hurt. Occasionally, I’d look over to Yoseob’s seat. He sat there, drinking his latte slowly, eyeing me and smirking whenever I looked over. It was a good smirk, though. Definitely good. After about an hour or so, my lunch break started. I had about 20 minutes to eat quickly and do whatever I want. I walked around the counter with a little lunch box. Usually, by now Yoseob was gone, but I found him sitting in the same seat, hands folded on the table and smiling straight at me. He waved and motioned to sit with him. Hyerin’s voice echoed through my head. Be confident.
“Annyong~” He chimed as I sat down in front of him.
“Annyong!” I said cutely.
“Aww, aegyo?” Yoseob chuckled. I blushed.
“Are you done with your latte yet? It seems like you’ve been drinking it forever.” I giggled as I pointed at the cup.
“Ah, yeah I finished it a while ago.”
“Then why are you still here?”
“Waiting for you.”
I froze just as I stuck my chopsticks in my mouth with noodles. I looked up at him, my head bent over my lunch box. He started to laugh.
“Aw, gwiyeopda!” He leaned over the table and pulled the chopsticks out of my mouth and used them to catch the noodles hanging on the side of my lips.
“Ahhhhh~” He teased when I wouldn’t open my mouth. He laughed when I parted my lips.
I couldn’t do anything but oblige as he helped me.
“Go-gomaweo.” I mumbled through chewing lips.
“Nah, it’s okay!” Yoseob set the chopsticks on my lunch box and sat back in his chair.
“How long is your break anyways?” He asked when I started to eat again.
“About 20 minutes.”
“And you get off around-“
“Six.”
“I’ll come back and pick you up, okay?” Yoseob smiled big.
“J-jinjjayo?” I say looking up as he got out of his chair.
“Yeah of course! Just save me a Caramel Latte, okay?” He chuckled a little and then pushed his chair in. “See you at six~”
“Neh! Gomaweo!” I couldn’t help but allow a huge cheesy grin spread across my face. He smiled back charmingly and then walked out the door. I nearly melted in my seat.
“Yah, Jihae! Hurry up and eat. You have 10 minutes. I can’t take my break unless you get back!” Hyerin called from the counter.
“Neh, unnie!” I said. I hurriedly finished my food, trying hard to stop smiling.
“Jihae your shift ends in ten minutes, are you sure he’ll be here?” Hyerin asked quietly. I knew right away she was trying to be sensitive. For the past thirty minutes, I’ve been looking at the front entrance for his smiling face to come through the door. Or his black shiny car to pull up. So far, nothing.
“Neh… I’m sure. Maybe he’ll come right at six. Or he’s looking for parking farther back in the lot.” I tried to be optimistic. But I was starting to panic. If he didn’t come, I didn’t know how I was getting home. I already told Bomi that I didn’t need a ride.
“Ohhh-kay, whatever you say.” Hyerin lifted her hands in the air and smiled with a sigh. “Clean up the counter before you leave. Jangshin isn’t very good with cleaning.” Hyerin rolled her eyes. Jangshin was the guy who took over my shift when I left.
“Nehhh~” As I wiped the counter, I let my mind wander. Would he really come and give me a ride? Yes, of course he would. I mean, he wouldn’t tell me he’d come, and then blow me off right? Right?
“Jihae, your shift’s over already. Why don’t you try heading on home?” Hyerin put a warm hand on my shoulder. I was sitting on a stool with my chin on my hand. Business was slow so we were able to take a mini break behind the counter. I looked up and nodded. I slid off the stool and grabbed the caramel latte I made for Yoseob from the counter.
“Annyong, Hyerin.” I said trying to smile.
“Aw, it’s gonna be okay, Jihae. Don’t worry too much about him okay?” Hyerin hugged my shoulders and squeezed. “And I’ll let this one latte slide. We’ll just consider it an employee discount.” She winked and I smiled back.
“Kamsahamnida.” I bowed a little and then walked out of the café.
Outside, I sat on the cement curb just outside the café and in front of the parking lot. I looked around, but since it was getting dark, the black and blue colors of cars seemed to look exactly alike. To make things even worse, I forgot what type of car Yoseob had and only vaguely remembered what it looked like. I sighed and clutched the latte between my hands. If he didn’t come in ten minutes, I had better just walk home.
Chapter 2 - Jihae’s pov
“SORRY SORRY SORRY!” I yelled as I nearly ran over a toddler. My apron hit him in the face and he started to whine. His mom gave me a stern look as I ran past them at full speed.
“Sorry!” I called again. I grunted and ran towards the light. I had less than 5 minutes. I flung the string over my neck and tied the apron around my waist as I waited for the stoplight. As you can tell, this was starting to become my morning routine everyday for work. My family wasn’t the wealthiest people in Seoul, so I ended up not getting car even when I got my license. I lived about 10 minutes away from work, walking-speed so it wasn’t so bad. But it was bad when I can never get out of the house on time. The light turned green and I sprinted.
“Annyonghaseyo!” I burst through the front entrance. My bow saluted me just as he turned into the back room. My co-worker was already there. She was new too and came in the day after me.
“Annyong Jihae.” Hyerin smiled. She fixed her pony tail and waved.
“Annyong~” I unlocked the second cash register and typed in the password.
“You ready for work?” I asked as I made sure the receipt paper was refilled.
“Definitely.” Hyerin replied. It was the end of our first week here together and we were finally getting the hang of things. Hyerin took care of the cash register usually, but if it was busy, I’d take the second register and we’d both dash around being the counter making drinks, getting orders and wiping up tiny spills. Hyerin was the simple-pretty type of girl. Her hair was either in a pony tail or straight down and around her shoulders. It was a dark brown, and her eyes were brown too. She was taller than me and older than me by a few years.
As we worked, I waited impatiently for late morning to come. Usually, that meant just a few hours after we opened. This only meant one thing: Caramel Latte with whip cream on top; always. I was facing the drink machine counter wiping up droplets of coffee and tea when I heard a very familiar voice behind me.
“Hi I would like to order a caramel latte.”
“Whip cream?” Hyerin asked.
“Always.” He replied. I turned around and he was there.
I walked over to the second register and pretended to fix something. I looked over at him, he was getting out a five dollar bill.
2 dollars and 45 cents is your change. I said in my head at the same time Hyerin did. I watched as she dropped the money into his hand.
“Jihae. Can we get a regular caramel latte with chip cream on top?” Hyerin turned to me. I nodded.
“Hey, I saw that look you gave him.” She winked.
“What look-“
“Caramel latte. With whip cream. Go.” Hyerin smiled knowingly and patted me on the shoulder.
I turned around and got a cup. What look? She knew? Was it obvious? Oh my gawd. I started panicking a little as I made Caramel Latte’s latte. I took the whip cream bottle and carefully swirled it on top. Always with whip cream, hmm? I thought, I smiled to myself. I placed it on the counter and looked at Hyrerin.
“Did you get his name?” I asked.
“Oh shoot, I forgot.” Hyerin frowned.
Don’t worry. I forget each time too… Truth was, I always forget with Caramel Latte because just his presence made me forget to do things. But I always made sure I made his latte correctly.
I sighed. “Caramel latte?” I called. I felt like I was calling him personally. I looked over at his usual spot and saw him getting up.
“Gomaweo.” He smiled. Today he had a hat on, but it was turned sideways and it was secured at the back of his head so his bangs were showing. My knees buckled and I felt myself lower by at least 3 inches.
“Hey you suddenly became shorter.” He chuckled.
“Uh, yeah sorry my knee is itchy.” I pretended to scratch my knee.
“Would you like a napkin with that?” I hesitated since he was just looking at me.
“Sure.”
I turned around and grimaced. Oh my gawd Jihae! Don’t let yourself knee-buckle in front of him!
I grabbed a few napkins and turned around. He was waiting there patiently.
“Here you go, and enjoy your latte.” I placed the napkins on the counter and he grinned. I almost buckled again.
“Gomaweo.” He smiled again and my knees almost buckled. He waved cutely and went back to his seat. I turned around, letting my knees buckle and came head on into Hyerin’s tummy.
“What are you doing bending your knees like that?” She asked sternly, her hands were on her hips. I looked up and let out a nervous giggle.
“I, uh-“
“It’s that guy, huh?” She moved her eyes balls toward Caramel Latte’s direction without moving her head at all.
“How’d you know?”
“Every time he’s here, you look at him more than you look at regular customers. You take a little longer to make his lattes every time; as if you were making them with more care than the others. I’ve noticed.” Hyerin pulled me back to my normal height.
“Is it that obvious?” I whispered biting my lip.
“To me, yeah because I work next to you. But to him, I’m not sure.” She glanced over and gripped my arm.
“Ahh! Unnie!” I said struggling against her grip.
“He comes everyday around this time, huh?” She asked, her eyes forming a mystery.
“Neh neh, please let go of me.” I squealed in pain.
“Then the next time he comes, I’ll get you take his order. Make sure you ask for him name!” She demanded but she had a smile on her face. She let go.
“Why do you care?” I pouted.
“He could possibly be your summer love.” She winked.
A summer… love?
“Bomi, what do I do?” I clutched my cell phone as I waited outside.
“I don’t know,” Bomi whined on the other end. I knew she was just as frantic as I was.
“It’s dark, I don’t wanna walk home.” I rubbed my bare arms. It was a summer night, but it was chilly.
“I’m sorry Jihae… I didn’t know appah wanted me to work extra hours tonight.” Jihae apologized. She was working at her dad’s company while she looked for a different job.
“Gwaenchana…” I sighed. “I’ll just walk home. It’s not too far.”
“Mian. I’ll pick you up tomorrow for sure. Even if my dad makes me stay long hours.”
“Gomaweo.”
“Be safe.” Bomi hung up and I was left alone in front of the café. I couldn’t ask Hyerin because she was working more hours than I, given that she was older and I was just out of high school.
I bit my lip and was about to walk towards the parking lot when a flash of blonde caught my eye.
“Caramel Latte?” I whispered under my breath. I turned my head and came face to face with him.
“Oh, annyong~” He smiled. “Aren’t you the girl that works behind the counter who makes amazing caramel lattes?”
I blushed. “Neh, that’s me.”
He chuckled at my reddening cheeks. “What are you doing out here? Don’t you have work?”
“Anyi, my shift ends around dinner time.”
“Are you in high school?” He asked, eyebrows knitting.
“I just graduated. Hyerin, my co-worker and that other guy is older than me by a few years so she works later into the night.” I gestured to Hyerin and a guy co-worker who took over my shift.
“Ahhh.” He nodded.
“You’re the guy who orders a caramel latte all the time, right?” I said, trying to make conversation. It was hard to keep my voice steady since his cute face was making me so distracted.
“With whip cream.” He corrected.
“Oh of course, whip cream always.” I giggled.
He looked up and flashed me a smile. “So you know me.”
I blushed again. “Anyi,” I lied. “Your blonde hair is easy to remember…”
He laughed and picked up his hat to run his hand through his hair.
“Yeah, I got it dyed not too long ago.” He replaced his hat and looked at me in a way that made me want to melt.
“Why- why are you here again today?” I asked.
“Oh, I don’t know. I felt like having one of your caramel lattes again.” He smirked.
“Are they really that good?” I asked, heart lifting.
“Yeah, they’re good. Plus I love this café. I live somewhere near here anyways.”
“Oh? Me too!” Did that mean he lives in my district? How come I’ve never seen him in school or anything.
“Did you just graduate too…?” I asked, questions flooding my mind.
He just laughed. “I graduated two years ago from Yongchan High School.”
I gaped. He was a sunbae and I never knew?
“I just graduated from there too. How come I’ve never seen you?”
“Maybe because I actually had brown hair back then.” He laughed. “Are you waiting for a ride?”
“Anyi… I was actually about to walk home since my friend can’t pick me up.” I shuffled my feet and pouted.
“You don’t drive?” He asked, cocking his head.
“I can, I just don’t have a car.” I replied embarrassed.
“Oh, that’s okay. I’ll give you a ride if you want.” He gave me a friendly smile.
“What about your caramel latte?” I asked. “If you want I can run in and make one for you real quick.”
“Nah, it’s okay. I’ll just come in tomorrow. You working in the morning?” He asked as he gestured me to follow him to his car.
“Neh, I work everyday except for Sunday. Saturday is half day.” I replied. Why am I telling him this? So he can come visit me while I work? I was hopeful.
“So I can’t get one of your amazing caramel lattes on Sundays, huh.” Caramel Latte laughed and beeped his car.
“Get in,” He pointed at the front seat. I gulped and tried hard not to stare at his car. It was nice and slick. Clean and shiny.
“So where do you live?” He asked as he drove out of the parking lot. I was busily looking around at the leather seats, pretty lights from his built in sound system and the nice polishing of well.. everything.
“Oh up that street, turn left and then turn right.” I said pointing at the first street passed the park.
“Ah, I live the opposite direction on the same street.” He said stopping at a red light.
We live on the same street too?!
“Gomaweo. You didn’t have to take me home.” I said as I got out of his car.
“No problem. You’re technically my hoobae.” He smiled and waved.
“By the way my name’s-“
“Jihae. I know, your nametag says it and I’ve heard your co-worker call your name several times.” He winked. “My name’s Yoseob, by the way.”
I smiled. So that’s his name. “Gomaweo, Yoseob. I’ll see you later.” I closed the door and turned around to face my house. My heart fluttered even as I heard his tires roll out of my driveway.
“Yoseob.” I whispered happily.
Chapter 1 - Jihae pov
“‘Scuse me!” I yelled as I ran down the sidewalk. Old couples gave me weird looks as I ran, tying an apron around my waist as I was running. I could not be late, I could NOT be late. I almost ran into the road, when I realized that the light for pedestrians still had that annoying red hand on it. I stared at the light, secretly commanding it to turn to green. I re-tied my apron and smoothed it out. I tapped my foot and checked my watch. 8:55am. I looked up just as the light turned green and I sprinted down the crosswalk, not caring that i was wrinkling my apron all over again. I reached the parking lot of the cafe at 8:57am. My first day of work started in 3 minutes. I dashed around parked cars, avoiding the moving ones and hurriedly buttoned my name tag on my apron. I shoved my cap on and halted right in front of the front entrance. I smoothed my hair, my apron and made sure my name tag was on securely. I checked my watched. 8:59am. Perfect. I opened the door and stepped inside just as the clock struck 9am.
“Ah! Jihae, just on time!” My boss checked his watch and an eyebrow rose when he realized i was here exactly at 9am. I smiled, trying to suppress my hyperventilation from running.
“Well, let’s get straight to work. You know how to work the machines and the cash register right?”
“Neh.” I replied. I had worked at a cafe before, and I was familiar with everything. I was a just-out-of-high-school employee, and during my high school years I’d work at my cousin’s cafe until they had to close down. No matter what I was interested in, or what my parents tried to tell me to do, I always insisted in finding a job at a cafe. I loved it. The fresh smell of coffee beans and tea bags. The chill, calm feeling of the cafe atmosphere. The people who came in to work quietly on their laptops, or on school papers. Everything about it.
“You’ll be working right behind this counter. Mornings are a little slow at first but you’ll get used to it once it picks up the pace.” My boss patted me on the shoulder and walked in the back room. I took a deep breath and waited for my first customer.
“Neh! Kamsahamnida!” I called as a customer left with a cup of green tea in her hands. She smiled and nodded her head and tried to push open the door with her hands full. A guy, with stunning blonde hair opened the door from the other side. Smiling and bowing a little as the lady thanked him and walked out. He came in and walked slowly to the casher, taking his time.
“Annyong! How may I help you?” I said brightly. He looked at me and a sweet smile grew on his face.
“Annyong. I’ll have a caramel latte please.” He said taking out his wallet.
“Whip cream or no-“
“Whip cream, always.” He said smiling and placing a 5 dollar bill on the counter.”
“Alrightey!” I said, i took the five dollars and gave him back his change. 2 dollars and 45 cents. He placed his hand under mind, signaling for me to drop the change. I slid the money out of my hand into his, our hands sliding together. His touch was gentle and his grin kept bright as he clasped his hand around the money.
“Gomaweo.” he said simply and then walked to the two seater table next to the window in the corner of the room. He sat there and waited, slumped in his chair. I turned to make his caramel latte. As I turned around to place it on the pick up counter, I realized I forgot to ask for his name to write it on the cup. I hesitated and set it on the counter anyways.
“Caramel latte?” I called. I looked his way and he stood up and walked casually towards me. As he reached the counter, he smirked.
“I never knew my name was Caramel Latte.” He laughed as I apologized. He left to go back to his seat before I could ask for his name.
It was late morning, almost hitting my lunch break. I looked over and the guy… Caramel Latte, sat drinking his latte slowly. He looked over and smiled as he caught me looking. I looked away quickly and blushed. Business was going slow so I decided to clean up a bit. I wiped the counters down and peeked behind the machines towards Caramel Latte. He was wearing dark jeans, slightly sagged, but not so much. His shirt was a white t-shirt with a simple design on it. He wore shoes that seemed to be kept clean. They were baller shoes- they looked hot. I realized I was staring again and went back to cleaning. I’d take peeks through the machines here and there. Examining a different part of him each time. His hair was cut so he had side bangs on his forehead, they barely reached his eyelids and he’d flip them casually. His arms were toned, I’d have to say. They made the sleeves of his t-shirt seemed just a tad tight for him. He always seemed to be smiling too. I was cleaning one spot of the counter over and over again as I watched him get up and walked towards to counter. he moved swiftly, with a little bounce. His grin becoming wider with every step. He stopped in front of where I was peeking through, bent down so out heads were level and smiled. I froze, he knew I was looking at him?
“Hi there.” He laughed.
“Hi.” I squeaked. I stood up and threw the rag to the side.
“This latte’s pretty good.” He stood straight and pointed as his cup. “You must be a new worker here, because the old worker never made it this good.”
I blushed. “Yeah, I’m new.” I said a little shyly.
“Well i see why they hired you.” He laughed and then threw his cup away. He waved and then turned around and walked out. I gawked as he got into a car and drove away. He winked through the window and drove off.
“Caramel Latte?” Bomi cocked an eyebrow at me. “His name… is Caramel Latte. Are you kidding me, Jihae?”
I laughed nervously at my best friend and shook my head.
“I don’t know his actual name. But he ordered a Caramel Latte.” I said swinging my legs. We sat at a park, eating kimbap as the sun started to set. I was off by the time dinner came around, and Bomi picked me up with her car.
“Ohhh, I see. He’s cute?” Bomi asked. Always, that’s the first question she’ll ask when it comes to boys.
“Definitely.” I said. Caramel Latte’s face flashed through my mind, the blonde hair and everything.
“Ahh, that’s good. What else is he like?”
“Well I don’t know him at all!”
“But from what you know?”
“He has blonde hair-“
“Blonde hair?!”
“Shut up, it looks good on him.”
“Right.” Bomi rolled her eyes.
“Whatever. Anyways, he seems well built. Like not too buff, but not too scrawny. He’s a simple dresser, but he’s got killer shoes. He’s always smiling… And he seems around my age, too.” I started to drift off into dreamland just thinking about him.
“You really think you’re gonna see him again?” Bomi asked.
“Well he mentioned the old worker and how my lattes were better than hers. So I’m guessing he comes to the cafe on a regular basis.” I swung my legs and prayed he’d be there tomorrow.
“Well best luck to you. I’d be surprised if anything does happen.” Bomi scoffed and finished the last of her kimbap. “Wanna catch a movie?”
“Sure.” I followed her out of the park and back to her car. Caramel Latte, never leaving my mind.
Prologue
I sat on the front porch, hugging my knees to my chest. My eyes were watery, glazing over with hot tears that threatened to fall around the sides of my cheeks. I rocked back and forth slowly on the porch swing, careful not to go too fast. I bit my lip hard as I felt a tear roll down my cheek; fast but slowing as it reached my chin. It hung there for a second before dropping to my thigh. The tears started to come down fast; one after the other, until my cheeks were just racetracks for my tears to chase each other down my face. I coughed and the tears bubbled even more. I could barely see anything now… but that didn’t stop me from seeing the memories. Seeing the memories of you playing vividly in my mind’s eye.
The chubby, soft cheeks that I would touch gently. Feeling them press softly against the side of my head as we hugged tightly. Poking them and giggling at how my fingers would make a dimple in your face… then having you tackle me, tickling me until I couldn’t breathe.
The big, puppy eyes that I would get lost in. I remembered the way they softened whenever your gaze fell on me… so full of love and warmth. You would pull that stunt- the puppy eyed look on me, and you’d get anything you want.
The cute, button pug nose that I would softly nuzzle with my own. You would smile as I kissed the tip of your nose and tell me I’m silly. But you’d only wrap me in your arms and nuzzle my jaw, driving me crazy.
The soft, plush lips that would never fail to amaze me as we kissed. The soft pecks on the lips right before bed, to the long passionate kisses that left me breathless and out of words by the time you pulled away; giving me a sweet smile.
And the smooth, blonde hair. Oh the blonde hair… something I will never forget. Running my fingers through your soft hair, or even the casual hair flips that you did to keep the bangs out of your eyes would drive me nuts. The black roots growing at the base of your scalp, the flash of blonde whenever you turned your head was still plastered into my memory…
I coughed again, this time doubling over, forcing my knees back down to regular sitting position. I grabbed my stomach and gagged. The pain was too much for me to handle. My heart was breaking all over again… tearing from the middle and expanding until my heart was completely shattered. I opened my mouth and took breaths to calm myself. I tried to form words, but I was incoherent. My mind was pulsing, my heart contracting. But somehow, out of all the chaos, I managed to say one thing. Your name.
“Yoseob.”
